Avoid Chinese Holidays

Strongly avoid Golden Week (Oct 1-7), Chinese New Year (late Jan/Feb), and Labor Day (May 1-5). Crowds are extreme and tickets often sell out weeks in advance.

Tickets require real-name registration; bring your original ID/passport. Purchase on-site at self-service kiosks, or via the official WeChat public account/mini-program. A one-way ticket costs 30 RMB, round-trip is 50 RMB. Discounts apply with a Chongqing transportation card. Children under 1.3m ride free. In peak season, queues can be 1-3 hours long. It's highly recommended to get a queue number in advance via WeChat and monitor the call-up progress to plan your time efficiently.
